Opportunity to Stand with a Separated Family

A Message from our Brothers and Sisters at Faith in the Valley

From Ariana Martinez-Lott:

As you may recall from the Video that captured the arrest of a father of four, we want to first and foremost thank you for the way in which you have already stood with the family in this difficult time. Collectively, we have been able to raise close to $7,000! Sandra, the 15 year old daughter, is wanting to raise awareness to the way in which immigration is conducting these terrorizing arrests in our communities.  She will be hosting a march that we and a few groups are helping her organize. Beyond the march, she is feeling called to step into her leadership and be involved in immigration advocacy.  Please help her spread the word by sharing with your networks. Attached is also a flyer she made on her own. We are so impressed by her initiative.

She and her brother will also be attending their dad's bond hearing. Their lawyer would like to have a community letter to hand to the judge. Please consider signing the petition:

"My name is Sandra Hernandez and I am 15 years old.

I want people to know what happened to my family and what is happening in our communities. One November 5, 2019, my Dad, a father of four kids, was pulled over by Immigration on his way to dropping off my brother and me off at school and was forced out of his car. He was threatened to get tased while we were a witness of this traumatizing event.

ICE also threatened us that we would get picked up by CPS if our mother didn’t hurry up. This tragic event didn’t only affect my family, but also caused fear in many other families that they would get separated. Immigration didn’t respect my father’s rights. We say no more hiding in the dark. My brother, our friends, and I want to fight for our families, and I want to fight for our families. Please join us as we march to show our families that they are not alone. We fight to reunite all families!"
