Food Bank Temporarily Suspends Operations


It is with heavy heart that we at St. James Cathedral must temporarily suspend our Food Bank Ministry to our community. This decision was not arrived lightly, but prayerfully and in consultation with the Bishop, Dean, clergy, members of SJ Food Bank, governmental entities, and the Central California Food Bank. In weighing the risks to our dedicated volunteers and others in this pandemic, we discern that we must suspend distributions until further notice. While we are temporarily unable to distribute food, we are actively seeking ways to feed our community through alternative means. Central California Food Bank has offered to coordinate and provide available volunteers for our monthly Neighborhood Market on Wednesday, April 15th, using our provided outside space. We will advise our community through the Food Bank’s Facebook and other social media outlets and announcements on our campus. We thank those dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to feed our community during this difficult time. Please keep your thoughts and prayers with the community we feed and the dedicated volunteers who serve this invaluable ministry. We will return to normal operations as soon as deemed safe by our leadership team at St. James Cathedral. The St. James Food Bank Leadership Team
